A simultaneously self-taught street artist and classically trained Illustrator and Designer, College for Creative Studies Alum Kobie Solomon has been a pillar of the local arts community for over 20 years. In addition to widely recognized public murals throughout the country, Solomon is also a published Author, Graphic Designer, Draftsman, and is renowned for his custom-tailored tattoo designs. Notably, he is responsible for the Detroit Chimera - now a state landmark - on the side of the Russell Industrial Center in New Center Detroit. At nearly 9,000 square feet, it is one of the largest murals in the Midwest, becoming one of the many symbols of Detroit’s cultural renaissance as time has passed.
